To power their various types of military defense equipment and electronics, Bharat Electronics Limited offers a wide variety of primary and secondary batteries. Read on to learn about five of each tier.
Table of Contents
Primary, Non-Chargeable Batteries
These batteries are compact, light in weight, and are made of non-rechargeable hermetically sealed lithium Sulphur dioxide cells.
1. 24V, 7Ah
This battery is intended for the powering of tactical communication and radio sets.
It incorporates safety devices like TCO, diode and slow blow fuse, the shelf life is more than five years, while the wide operating temperature ranges from -30 C to + 55 C.
2. 12V, 15Ah (PRC)
This non-rechargeable battery is meant to power the Radio Set HX PRC – 6020.
Like the previous, it incorporates safety devices like TCO, diode and slow blow fuse, and has a shelf life of more than five years. It also has a wide operating temperature range of -30 C to + 55 C.
3. 8.9V, 7Ah
The third battery on the list is made to power up the BA5600 tactical computers.
Like the previous two, it incorporates safety TCO, diode and slow blow fuse safety devices, and can survive on the shelf for more than five years. Likewise, it has a wide operating temperature range of -30 C to + 55 C.
4. 12V, 15Ah
This is another battery made exclusively to power the tactical communication systems and radio sets, and another than meets safety measures like TCO, diode and slow blow fuse. It also has a long shelf live of 5+ years, and can operate on temperatures ranging from -30 C to +50 C.
5. +7V, +18V, -18V
This battery is a bit different from the previous four. It consists of three separate sections made with 139 Nos of lithium thionyl chloride (LiSOCl2) cells, which are connected in the series-parallel configuration under each section. There are a safety fuse and a diode provided in each string of these three sections for protection against short circuits and charges. The battery provides the voltage regulators with the necessary supplies and can power the entire electronics for 300 days at the end of a 4-year life.
It is not chargeable, and it incorporates diode and slow blow fuse safety devices. The shelf life is also five years, and it operates from -30 C to + 50 C.
Secondary, Rechargeable Batteries
These battery packs are compact, lightweight and, and are made of rechargeable sealed nickel-cadmium cells.
