Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan was born on August 13, 1963, in Sivakasi, Madras State, India. She started her acting career as a child actor in 1969. At four years old, she appeared in the movie “Thunaivan” by M.A. Thirumugham. At this time, she worked behind her birth name.
